Native speaker advice and strategies for clear, natural pronunciation in English.

Ideal for beginners and intermediate level students, or students of a higher level who want to gain more confidence with speaking and listening.
English is well known for having sounds and patterns that can be difficult for non-Native speakers. In this lesson, you'll learn strategies for pronouncing tricky sounds, words and sentences in a relaxed and cheerful (but thorough!) lesson.
We'll tackle individual sounds, how to link words together to sound natural, and intonation patterns that will help your English flow. And alongside the confidence you'll gain with your speaking, this will also help your listening skills improve - and little by little the thought of having conversations in English will fill you with excitement rather than worry!
We'll start the lesson either with a phrase or area you've found difficult, or an area of practice I've chosen for you, depending on what we decided in our introductory lesson. Please feel free to also bring any material that interests you, from news articles to poetry! We can tailor the lesson to meet your needs for the topic you're most interested in or will find most useful.
We'll practise the strategies that will help you confidently pronounce the target phrases or sentences, then expand this out into wider areas - similar phrases and more complex, longer sentences that share common pronunciation, for example.
We will study mouth shape and position when pronouncing English sounds, the difference in sound between long and short vowels, when to link the end of one word to the beginning of the next, and role of intonation in various types of sentences and much more!
