I use English at work sometimes and I took his lesson to improve my English. He commented not only for English correctness but impression, his perspective and what other people might think if I use the particular phrase in that way. 瞬発力、表現力を強化したくてお世話になっています。先生が日本語の文章を言い、こちらが英語に変換するのですが、うまくできればテンポよくどんどん進みます。前置詞や構造など苦手な部分、自分が避けてきた文法にぶつかると、すかさずフォーカスして、わかりやすく解説してくださいます。フィードバックも大変勉強になっていて、ありがたいです。

Mineco-sensei and I have been reading 吾輩は猫である which is a book I have been very interested in for years now, but could never really understand by myself. Mineco-sensei always prepares thoroughly for each lesson. She makes slides with the words, phrases and grammar for each passage. She also researches the cultural background whenever there's a difficult part or idiom in the text, as well as prepares some sentences for me to read outloud as a practice. We always have a chat about the passage and every single lesson is a lot of fun. I really appreciate all of the work Mineco-sensei puts into lesson prep.

最初は「日本語で40分間もマンツーマンレッスンを受けられるだろうか」と少し不安でした。しかし、実際に先生のレッスンを受けてみると、会話をしているうちにあっという間に時間が過ぎてしまい、40分がとても短く感じられました。このレッスンは時間的な負担が少なく、無理なく続けられるので、少しずつ日本語力を積み重ねていきたい方にもおすすめです。私のように日本語の会話に自信がない人でも安心して参加できます。間違いを気にせず話せる雰囲気を作ってくださるので、とても楽しく学べるレッスンです。

I’ve tried a few different Japanese teachers and Hiromi is the best. Really thoughtful, well planned, friendly and helpful lessons. She explains difficult grammar easily and I always notice an improvement when I take regular lessons. Highly recommended!

Tomoko-sensei is a wonderful teacher! Her lessons are thorough, helpful, and contain useful information for future study. She provides recording and pronunciation files, and even intonation guides so you can practice on your own after the class. My Japanese has improved thanks to Tomoko-sensei. Every class I take with Tomoko-sensei helps me improve in an instantly noticeable way, and she is also a fun and interesting conversation partner.
