A 30-minute lesson is a good opportunity to establish English communication skills. The student will be given a reading article and the teacher will take note of areas for improvement in terms of pronunciation and pauses. This can also be a starting ground for vocabulary building. There will be listening exercises, like a 1 to 2-minute audio recording that the student will listen to. A set of 5 questions follow after the listening exercise to measure the comprehension skills.
Conversation practice is presented in form of a dialogue between the teacher and the student where both read from a script and exchange conversation. A grammar exercise follows which could be anything from discussion of a specific part of speech, sentence construction, etc. The student will be given 10 sentences and answer the questions pertaining to a particular part of speech, or it could be about tenses of verbs, etc. Conversation topics will be given so the student can expound on the given topic and he/she will have the opportunity to practice spoken English. An idiom of the day will also be given so the student will have a good idea on how to effectively use idiomatic expressions in good sentences. There's fun in learning English!
This lesson is great for beginners and intermediate students.
At the end of the lesson, the student will receive a fully-recorded copy of the Skype conversation for reference.
