Japanese course for beginners! Learn Japanese with a fun textbook widely used in university courses called 「げんき」

課程介紹

You will learn Japanese using the textbook called “Genki” which is the most widely used textbook in college and high school courses in the US. I especially like using this textbook because it is very well organized, it has a variety of practice and activities, and the illustrations make the learning fun!
One example of practice using 「～すぎる(sugiru)」"I made too much"

With this textbook, you will learn the fundamentals of Japanese in a comprehensive way, developing the four basic skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The lessons are customized to your level and goals. If you have any special interests or needs, please let me know and I will incorporate them into the lessons. (If you want to skip learning the writting systems of Japanese and just want to learn how to speak, please try my "Japanese Boot Camp" course, instead.)

You don’t need to have the textbook for the trial lesson or your first lesson, but for the regular classes, the textbook is required. If you have used this textbook before, please let me know in advance where you would like to start the lessons. If you are unsure of your level, please take the counseling session before you start!

I know she would give me all the credit, but her enthusiasm and fun attitude makes getting there easier. I'm glad to be back. ただいま！

I have been inspired by Mari sensei and her exceptional Japanese lessons. As a beginner, the course material has been great, but Mari sensei expands heavily upon this material with real world examples. She is patient, answers all of my questions, and holistically incorporates old and new concepts alike which helps reinforce what I've already learned. Her passion for teaching shows in the deft touches in our lessons. Even when we engage in small talk, we are reviewing material. Mari sensei makes the learning experience feel natural and fun. These lessons are one of the highlights of my week and I look forward to learning from Mari sensei far into the future!
