Hi! I'm Laura, from Argentina, and I'm thrilled to be part of Cafetalk.
You know what? When I was in secondary school, I didn’t like English. I found lessons difficult and I usually got bored in class. I didn’t want to fail exams, though, so I decided to take private lessons. It was at that time that I discovered the thrill of learning and communicating with others in another language. Finding inspiring teachers made all the difference. I decided to pursue a teaching career and eventually completed three university programs. I graduated as a Teacher of English, a Certified Translator, and years later, I became a Spanish as a Second/Foreign Language Tutor. At the moment I’m doing a Master’s degree in English and Literature.
While studying at university, I got a scholarship to study English in Australia. Then, I travelled to Canada on an exchange program and I also spent some time in India, which was a life-changing experience. Those trips have shaped my views about learning and culture, and now there’s nothing I like more than teaching students from different parts of the world.
After 20 years of teaching experience at university, secondary, primary school, and as an online tutor, I feel confident teaching students of all ages and proficiency levels, in English and/or Spanish.
Here are some kinds of lessons you may want to take:
I want you to enjoy your lessons. The first step will be to listen to you and understand what you expect from them.
Today is a great day to get started. Do get in touch and let's embark on a new learning adventure!
