Hello, my name is Ginger. I was born in the US and I currently live in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I started tutoring in college, American Sign Language, English and Linguistics. After graduating with a degree in Interpreting, I worked for about 10 years as an ASL/English Interpreter and continued to tutor ASL and English on a part-time basis. In 2020, I was forced to stop interpreting due to medical issues and started focusing on tutoring as much as I could. I enjoying reading (fiction, mostly) and crocheting. My teaching style is one of a fun and creative environment and I encorage engagement from the students because I believe the more students interact with a language, the more fluent they become. I utalize visuals and real-world scenarios because I believe they assit in the learning process better than just lecturing alone. I prefer my students to do at least 70% of the speaking during a lesson, so that I may understand their needs better.
