このコースでは声のヨガとも言われているインド声楽及びインド楽器エスラジの基礎（入門）を学ぶことができます。
In this course, you can learn the basics (introductory level) of Indian classical vocal music, also known as "Voice Yoga," as well as the fundamentals of the Indian string instrument, Esraj.
 
歌や楽器が未経験の方から受講可能です。作曲に活用するために学んでいる受講者さんもいらっしゃりきっかけは皆さん様々です。
It is open to beginners with no experience in singing or playing an instrument. Some students learn it to use in their compositions, and the motivations vary for each participant.
 
インド古典音楽はRagaと呼ばれる旋律（色彩の意）を即興演奏する宮廷音楽です。
Indian classical music is a form of court music that focuses on the improvisation of melodic frameworks known as Ragas, which literally means "color" or "mood."
 
インドの音階を使って西洋音楽とは違う独特な音の使い方が魅力です。新しい感性を磨いてみませんか？
It uses Indian scales, which offer a unique sound different from Western music. Why not explore and refine your musical sensibilities in a new way?
 
全ての楽器はボーカルを模倣したものなので、楽器がない方はボーカルから始めてみてください。
Since all instruments are designed to mimic the human voice, those who do not own an instrument are encouraged to start with vocal practice.

About the Esraj
 
エスラジは共鳴弦を含む、約19-20本の弦で成されたTum woodで作られたインドの楽器です。
The Esraj is an Indian stringed instrument made from Tum wood, featuring 19 to 20 strings, including sympathetic strings.
 
イスラミックな起源はありませんが、特に西ベンガル地方での伝統的な音楽において発展しており、存在感は根強いものがあります。
While it does not have Islamic origins, it has been deeply rooted in the traditional music of West Bengal, where it continues to play a prominent role.
 
流派により演奏方法が異なります。
The style of playing varies depending on the musical tradition.
 
19世紀後半ごろからアジア人として初めてノーベル賞を受賞した人物ラビンドラート・タゴールの影響によって高まりました。
The instrument gained popularity in the late 19th century, partly influenced by Rabindranath Tagore, the first Asian Nobel Prize laureate.
 
アシュチャンドラ・バンドパディヤイは教育者としてタゴールの大学でエスラジを教え、若い世代に受け継がせることに寄与しました。
Ashutosh Chandra Bandyopadhyay, an educator at Tagore's university, taught the Esraj and contributed to passing it on to younger generations.
 
ラナディールロイは新しいモデルも開発し伴奏楽器から独奏楽器へと引き上げました。
Ranadhir Roy also developed new models, elevating the instrument from an accompaniment role to a solo instrument.
 
音色は柔らかくSweetでより歌に近く輪郭がはっきりしているのが特徴です。
Its sound is known for being soft, sweet, and closer to the human voice, with a well-defined clarity.

非常に似た楽器ディルルバはパンジャブ地方が起源とされ主にシーク教のキルタンやバジャンに使用され、パフォーマンスを目的とせず聖典に用いられてきました。
A similar instrument, the Dilruba, originated from the Punjab region and is mainly used in Sikh Kirtan and Bhajan traditions. Unlike the Esraj, it is not typically used for performances but in religious scriptures.
 
どちらも多くの共鳴弦がありますが、歴史的背景と用途が違いディルルバの音色は独特で深みがあり、伴奏により適しています。
While both instruments feature many sympathetic strings, the Dilruba’s sound is unique, deeper, and more suited for accompaniment.

Another related instrument is the Taus. This is a highly distinctive instrument, as it has a horn attached to the body to produce a more defined and sharper sound.
 また、tausはディルルバよりも古い歴史があります。エスラジはディルルバの変種ですが、ディルルバはtausの変種です。　tausはサンスクリット語で孔雀という意味です。mayur veenaとも呼ばれます。私は左利き用のtausを持っていますが、工房が作るのが初めてだったので購入するのはとても大変でした。左利きでも腕に支障がなければ右利きで演奏できた方が購入はスムーズにできるでしょう。　There is also a more ancient instrument than the Dilruba called the Taus. The Esraj is a variant of the Dilruba, while the Dilruba itself is a variant of the Taus. Taus means "peacock" in Sanskrit, and the instrument is also known as the Mayur Veena. I own a left-handed Taus, but it was quite difficult to purchase as it was the first time the workshop had made one for a left-handed player. For left-handed individuals without any physical limitations, it may be easier to purchase and play a right-handed

I began my music career as a club singer in my teens and performed at various venues such as hotels and concert halls.
 
2007年にα, perpetual betaリリース。
In 2007, I released the albums *α* and *Perpetual Beta*.
 
FMパーソナリティ、舞台俳優等務める。
I have worked as an FM radio host and stage actor.
 
Xoomeiやフリージャズでの活動後インドの旋律Ragaに魅了され、インド古典音楽を学び始める。
After exploring Xoomei (throat singing) and free jazz, I became captivated by the melodies of Indian classical music, known as Ragas, and began studying Indian classical music.
 
2014年前ごろから精神的なダメージにより数年に渡り声が出なくなったのをきっかけに自分の代わりに歌ってくれる楽器を探していたところエスラジと出会う。歌のための楽器ということを知り始める。　2016年に事故で人工関節になった為、エスラジを右利きから左利きにしてリスタート。
Around 2014, due to mental health issues, I lost my voice for several years. This led me to search for an instrument that could sing in my place, and that’s when I discovered the esrajIn 2016, following an accident that resulted in a prosthetic joint, I switched from playing the Esraj right-handed to left-handed and restarted my musical journey.
 
渡印し数人のインドの先生からインド音楽の基礎、声楽を、エスラジ奏法、コンポジションを学び現在も探求し、演奏の他にワークショップやレコーディングなども行っています。
I have traveled to India, where I studied the fundamentals of Indian classical music, vocals, Esraj technique, and composition under several Indian teachers. I continue to explore and share this music through performances, workshops, and recordings.

NY , インド, ベトナムなど日本以外でも演奏活動を続け、2018年インド大使館マハトマガンジー120周年記念日本代表を務め外務大臣より感謝状を授与。
I have performed not only in Japan but also in New York, India, Vietnam, and other international venues. In 2018, I represented Japan at the Mahatma Gandhi 120th Anniversary event at the Indian Embassy, receiving a certificate of appreciation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
 
2019年より同じくインド大使館HINDI DIWASにてボーカルを務めた。
Since 2019, I have served as a vocalist for *Hindi Diwas* at the Indian Embassy.
 
2020年マラティー協会でのゲスト参加、2021年Dussehra Milanniにて感謝状授与。
In 2020, I was a guest performer at the Marathi Association, and in 2021, I was honored with a certificate of appreciation at the *Dussehra Milan* event.
