Hello,
My name is Stevian, but you can call me Stevy. I am from Jamaica, I have been living in Japan since August 2023. I am an Assistant Language Teacher at Public Elementary and Junior High Schools in Miyazaki, Japan. I also tutor English online.
I have worked as a Journalist and Public Communicator, so I speak clearly and slowly. I also have a TEFL certificate so I am qualified to teach English as a Foreign Language. I studied French years ago and I have been studying Japanese since October 2023. Presently I think I just at N4 level but I am working hard to take and pass the N4 exam in December 2024.
Since living in Japan, I have volunteered for my City's Fire Department and I have also been a volunteer English Teacher at a Church in my community.
My hobbies are writing, listening to music and watching documentaries. I also like badminton, visiting new places and learning about new cultures.
I like to allow my students sufficient talking time in order to practice grammar and vocabulary.
