Hi everyone! I’m Cassandra and I’m from a tiny country called Singapore. I moved to Japan in February 2020 and have lived in the Land of the Rising Sun for slightly more than 2 years! 

Just as I was starting to get used to Japan, I moved to Vancouver, Canada to pursue another dream of mine while I continue teaching my lovely students from Japan the best I can despite the time difference. 

About me:
I studied in a small film school in Los Angeles, California at Columbia College Hollywood. Although I was interested in directing, I majored in cinematography so that I could improve my storytelling visually. And well, that's also where I met my sweetheart, which led me to this moment now. 


My favourites:

My Skills:
  • I am TESOL Certified by London Teacher Training College.
  • I used to be a permanent relief teacher in my secondary school teaching English and Music to students across all levels. 
  • I was a language facilitator in a Primary school for underprivileged students.
  • I can switch between the Singlish and American accent! (Just like in the video ;P) 
  • I have worked with kids and adults of all ages.

 



My Classes:

  • I focus on daily conversations, sharing slangs and slurs, as well as useful metaphors and expressions.
  • My classes can be flexible and structured, depending on your learning preference and goals.
  • I can help you with grammar, pronunciation, and accent. Accent is optional of course, and will only be taught to people who request it. 
  • I can help you to prepare for your speech or presentation. 
 
Teaching Style:
  • I like to keep my classes casual and light-hearted.
  • I tailor my classes based on my student's needs, learning preferences, and goals. 
  • I try to reduce my talk time so that students have the chance to practice speaking more. 
  • I am open to any topics you would like to discuss! Just tell me ahead of time and I will prepare for it. Be rest assured, I will still prepare a string of topics to talk about so no pressure!
  • I am always open to feedback. It's always good to improve! 
 
Although I've been studying Japanese on and off for the past few years, my Japanese level is still quite basic. I understand the challenges of learning a new language, especially conversing naturally in their language. The other challenge is to keep up the motivation. And that's what I'm here for!

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • Less than 12hours before lesson start time.→ 100% of price charged.
  • Between 12-24hours before lesson start time.→ 50% of price charged.
  • No-Show→ 100% of price charged.
