Howdy! I’m Dot, and I teach English here at Cafetalk. Equipped with a TEFL certification, a bachelor’s degree in English, and a passion for equity and inclusivity, I’m ready to meet you at your level and get you feeling confident and capable in your English ability.

I have several years of experience teaching one-on-one English lessons, as well as experience working as a professional-level editor and proofreader — so whether you’re trying to improve your speaking or looking to perfect your writing, I’m the person for the job! Together, we’ll assess your current level; set clear and constructive goals; and regularly check your progress in reading, writing, and speaking through personal growth evaluations — all so that we can get you communicating confidently and, in time, fluently!

Learning English has to be fun! Humans don’t retain information effectively when we are scared, nervous, anxious, bored, or distracted. That’s why I strive to make every lesson entertaining, tuned to your level of ability and comfort, and above all, personalized to keep you excited to learn. I can’t wait to meet and start our journey together; or otherwise join you on yours!
