Ciao! My name is Valeria, I'm from Catania, Sicily and I've been working as an Italian language teacher since 2020. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in foreign languages and literatures, with specialization in French and English.
I am currently in Bologna, Italy, but I lived in Paris for six years: there, I taught Italian at Université Paris Nanterre and Sorbonne Nouvelle while preparing my PhD in Italian literature and also held individual courses for adults aged 30 to 65, both online and in person. I'm used to teaching and interacting with university students, but also with workers or retired people from different fields and life paths!
I like organizing my lessons considering the students' personal interests and learning alongside them: if you like art, I'll look for texts or videos about art for you! If you need to speak Italian to travel or for professional purposes, I will help you practice the communicative functions and the vocabulary you need.
I'm happy to work with curious people of all ages who love learning and sharing their passions with me! I love literature, cinema, traveling, yoga, pilates and of course foreign languages and cultures.
I would love to teach you not only the Italian language, but also regional peculiarities in terms of linguistic expressions and daily culture: Italy is really a mosaic of micro-cultures, and I believe this is something a good teacher always has to keep in mind and share with the learners.
I offer courses for every level, from beginner to advanced. I speak French, English and a bit of Spanish and German :)
