Hi! I'm Elaine. I'm friendly, approachable, and genuinely enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds. One of the things I love most about teaching is getting to know my students while learning about their cultures, traditions, and everyday lives.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy DIY projects, home renovations, cooking, and traveling. Before becoming an English teacher, I worked in a variety of industries, including restaurants, fashion retail, insurance, and the corporate sector, where I handled customer support for U.S. and Australian telecommunications clients. These experiences have given me a broad perspective and make it easy for me to connect with students on a wide range of topics, creating conversations that feel natural, engaging, and meaningful.
I've been teaching English online for more than eight years, working with learners primarily from Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, France, and Germany, as well as students from Taiwan and Saudi Arabia. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology, I'm TEFL-certified, and I hold a C2-level English proficiency certificate. Throughout my teaching career, I've helped students of different ages and proficiency levels build confidence, improve fluency, and develop practical English skills for work, travel, study, and everyday communication.
I believe the best learning happens when students feel comfortable, encouraged, and genuinely enjoy the conversation. My lessons are relaxed, conversation-focused, and tailored to your goals, interests, and learning style. Whether you're preparing for a job interview, improving your conversational English, building your confidence for work or travel, or simply looking for someone to practice with, I'll adapt each lesson to help you achieve your goals. I encourage students to speak as much as possible while providing clear explanations, constructive feedback, and practical guidance to help them make steady, meaningful progress.
If you're looking for a tutor who is friendly, patient, and professional, I'd love to help you build confidence, improve your fluency, and make learning English an enjoyable part of your day. I recommend starting with a trial lesson so we can get to know each other, discuss your goals, and create a learning plan that's tailored specifically to you.
I look forward to meeting you in class. Let's start your English journey together!
