Good day! My name is Ellene. I finished my Master of Arts in Education major in English Education in one of the top international universities in the Philippines. At the moment, I am pursuing Doctor of Philosophy in Education major in Curriculum and Instruction with TESOL as my cognate.
I have been teaching English for around twenty-five years now. In these twenty years, I have had the privilege of teaching students from different levels and nationalities. I had been an academic instructor in a university's high school department and took the roles of a subject teacher, a choir director, a homeroom adviser, a club mentor, and an area head for the English Department. I taught academic subjects such as Asian Music, English Literature, Research Writing, English Communication Skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening) and English as a Second Language.
Aside from my teaching roles, I also managed the speech laboratory for ESL classes and supervised co-curricular activities for theater and student publication groups. Being a mentor for the university's Teacher Training Program, I had the chance to direct teacher interns in their lesson planning, lesson presentation, and thesis writing. On weekends, I teach piano to elementary students. Some other time, I proofread the theses and dissertations of postgraduate students.
At the moment, I train business professionals to polish their business communication skills in English. When I am not teaching, I get busy with my vegetable garden and playing badminton. I also make sure that I spare a special time to practice piano daily. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with others. It always makes me happy to see my students grow in wisdom and skills. I'm looking forward to seeing you. Have a nice day!:-)
