Self Introduction

 

 

Hi, I’m Scott.

Many learners can speak English—but struggle when they need to explain something clearly, answer a question, or respond in real time.

If you’ve ever felt like your English is “good,” but not usable when it matters, you’re not alone.

In most cases, this isn’t a vocabulary or grammar problem.

It’s the gap between learning English and being able to use it under real conditions—where you have to think, respond, and communicate clearly at the same time.

My lessons focus on helping you:

  • respond more quickly and confidently
  • explain your ideas clearly and logically
  • speak without freezing when asked questions
  • move beyond basic fluency into real communication

I work with professionals, advanced learners, and students preparing for international or English-medium environments.

Teaching Background

I’ve been teaching English for over 20 years in the USA, South Korea, Spain, and online.

My experience includes:

  • 10+ years teaching at the university level in South Korea
  • Business English for professionals in international and remote settings
  • ESOL and bilingual (English–Spanish) teaching in U.S. primary and secondary schools
  • Teaching in private language schools in the USA and Spain

I hold a CELTA certification and have worked with learners from a wide range of cultural and professional backgrounds, including banking, IT, pharmaceuticals, and education.

 

I also have experience helping younger learners in international school settings move out of remedial English programs by developing their ability to respond, explain, and participate more actively in class.

 

Teaching Style

My teaching style is practical, focused, and interactive.

We don’t just “practice conversation.”

Lessons are built around real questions and guided interaction, so you learn how to think and speak clearly in real time—not just prepare and repeat.

In our lessons, you will:

  • respond to questions and ideas in real time
  • practice explaining and clarifying your thinking
  • improve the structure and clarity of your answers
  • build confidence speaking under pressure

I create a supportive environment, but also introduce the right level of challenge—so you can move beyond passive fluency into clear, effective communication.

 

Lessons are always adapted to your level and goals, and designed to help you use English more effectively in real situations.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
