Hi! I am an American linguist with two university degrees, one teaching certificate and lots of experience teaching and learning languages.

My professional life has been lived out in 5 countries so far. My students include: kids, adults, teenagers, lawyers, CEOs, travelers, retirees, and everything in between.

My specialties are business English, legal English for lawyers, exam preparation, conversational English at all levels, and catering my teaching to my student's needs.

We both had a good laugh about being a tutor who understands what students were talking in their mother tongue during the class. Moreover, I am cheered up after the serious issue we discussed at the first half section of the class. I really appreciate Mrs. Jost and feel blessed choosing her as my English instructor. このクラスは先生が移住されているスイスについて、日本の文化や社会と比較しながらディスカッションする内容となっています。私にとってちょっと遠く感じるスイスですが、言語や宗教の多様性、文化や伝統、経済や社会保障制度などについて話し合う中で、とても近い国に感じてきました。テーマにそった重要表現などをレッスン前に事前に予習しつつ、レッスンでは先生から発せられる生の英語表現をノートにとり、25分のレッスンが終了した後にはちょっとしたオリジナル辞書のようなものが仕上がります。地道な作業ですが、これを繰り返すことによって、幅広い議論ができるようになりたいと思います。英語を学ぶだけでなく、他国の事情も勉強できることはとても楽しいことです。是非このクラスお勧めです！

このクラスはアメリカの文化や社会についてディスカッションする内容となっています。今年はアメリカ大統領選があったこともあり、アメリカが抱える社会問題について、日本社会と比較しながらいろいろと話し合いました。移民問題、中絶問題、外交問題、犯罪や死刑制度などを取り上げ、それにそった英語表現を多く学びました。レッスンにおいて、Amy先生は、英語表現のみならず、独自にリサーチしたデータなどを示しつつ、テーマを深堀りした材料を提供してくださいます。25分の短いレッスンですが、内容はとても充実していますよ。先生のレッスンカリキュラムは興味深いものばかりで、次はまた新しいクラスにも挑戦してみたいと思います。
