Penny Baker Tutor Profile

Hello, I’m Penny. I’m a Canadian English teacher who enjoys clear ideas, good conversations, and meeting people from different places. I grew up bilingual in English and Persian, and I studied Applied Linguistics at the University of Toronto. I also hold TEFL and TESOL certificates. These help me explain English in a simple and practical way, especially for beginners.

My lessons are calm, structured, and easy to follow. I like breaking English into small, clear steps that make sense. Whether we are working on grammar, reading, vocabulary, or everyday speaking, I focus on helping you understand the idea behind the language.

I enjoy discovering new topics with my students — stories, travel, daily life, interesting words, and anything you are curious about. For me, teaching is a way to learn together and to see how people think, speak, and express themselves.

I teach adults and children, and I also offer offline lessons for students who prefer quiet, independent study. If you like clear explanations, steady progress, and a relaxed learning space, my lessons may be a good match for you.
