Have you ever felt this way?


Hello! I’m Misato, a Korean language tutor. ^^
 
I earned a Level 6 on the TOPIK certification without ever studying abroad and later landed a job at a Korean company. After that, I lived in South Korea for six years, and now I work as a translator and interpreter as well.
 
In my lessons, I’m often asked,
 
“How did you learn Korean without studying abroad?”
 
Ever since I started learning Korean, I’ve believed that “you can learn Korean without studying abroad.” What sparked this belief was meeting a language tutor who had learned Korean without studying abroad and was now thriving as a Korean language tutor and interpreter.
 
“You can achieve this much even without studying abroad.”
 
Realizing this helped me decide to give my best in this path.
 
This is why, instead of choosing to study abroad in South Korea, I continued learning Korean through my own path of trial and error. Of course, it didn’t go smoothly from the start.
 
“I don’t know what to study.”
“I’m studying, but I’m not making any progress.”
“I’m afraid of making mistakes, and so I can’t speak.”
 
I’ve gone through plenty of periods like this myself.
This is exactly why, in my lessons, I don’t just teach Korean, but rather,
 
I work with you to figure out “what you need right now” and support a learning process you can sustain without feeling overwhelmed.
 
Everyone has different learning goals, daily lives, and available time. This is why I’ll help you learn the Korean language one step at a time, at a pace that’s right for you ^^


[Teaching Experience]

Before moving to South Korea, I worked as an online Korean language tutor, and after that, I worked for a South Korean company for six years.
 
Currently, in addition to my work as a translator and interpreter, I offer Korean language lessons and provide learning consultations.
 
Because I’ve not only “studied” Korean but also “used it in my career” and have actually “worked in South Korea,” I can discuss not only learning methods, but also how to apply what you’ve learned in the real world.


[Lesson Style]
 
What I value most isn’t simply “teaching.”
Based on each student’s goals and current level,
 
I conduct lessons while working with them to figure out
 
“What will help them improve the most right now?”
 
My lessons are recommended for the following learners:

  • Those who are studying on their own but feel they are not making as much progress as they’d like
  • Those who are unsure if their current study methods are effective
  • Those who want to prepare for the TOPIK exam
  • Those who want to use Korean for work or to advance their career

In addition to conversation practice and TOPIK preparation, I can also offer personalized learning consultations.
