My name is Meneesha and I live in the sunny city of Durban in South Africa. With the Indian Ocean on my doorstep and warm days almost throughout the year, there's nothing better I like doing than spending time outdoors walking on the beach, swimming in the many rock pools along our coastline, and walking in the nearby mountains.
I began my career as a lecturer in English literature but soon found the pace too slow. So I switched careers to journalism - my home away from home. Having worked at a flagship Durban newspaper for over 20 years, I have experience in all aspects of news dissemination - reporting, opinion writing, feature writing, design and layout, online news, and social media management. But my best role has been as a mentor to young interns - sharing knowledge and information brings me immense joy.
I am currently a freelance content strategist and creator, working in online news, social media management, website design, and corporate communications.
I also work at a French company where I coach French executives in doing business in English. This involves anything from teaching basic English to writing presentations and reports for my learners. Some of the companies I've worked for are TotalEnergies, Banque de France, Agence France de Developpemente, Tour Eiffel, and Pierre Fabre pharmaceuticals.
I see using English as a journey - every day I learn something about this wonderful language. If you're keen on joining me on a journey of English exploration, send me a meeting request and let's get learning!
