Hello everyone~!

I’m thrilled to announce that on June 13th, I officially debuted as a Chinese language tutor on Cafetalk!
My name is Sae.O, and both of my parents are Japanese.

Thanks to your support, within just a month of starting teaching on Cafetalk, I achieved first place in the Trending Tutor Rankings for Chinese language! Thank you so much!!

Ever since I was a child, I loved learning languages and doing international exchanges. In high school, I discovered Chinese and started studying it—it became so enjoyable that my dream as a student was to become a bridge connecting China and Japan once I entered the workforce.

Now, years into my career, my dream has shifted slightly: to look back at the Chinese I’ve learned and make it useful for someone else!


Because I am a naturally curious person who embodies the ENTP-A MBTI traits, I would like to offer lessons that only I can provide!!

The core of my teaching is offering practical Chinese skills that I’ve mastered through real-life experiences.

This is because textbook phrases often differ from what’s actually used in business situations!

“Mental care for those struggling with language learning”

→Language learning is all about gradually absorbing vocabulary and grammar, step-by-step, then practicing to reinforce what you’ve learned. When actually speaking, you might fumble through conversations, desperately trying to make yourself understood—sometimes even feeling embarrassed. It’s truly a battle with yourself! There are moments when you might feel like giving up, and I’ve been there too—times when locals couldn’t understand me, leaving me frustrated, or when progress felt painfully slow.

This is exactly why it’s so important to keep language learning fun and to stay positive!

 

In my lessons, I don’t just provide language instruction, but rather, I also support the “mindset for continuing to learn with confidence.”


・Tutor’s background with practical experience in Chinese and business

Studied Chinese since high school, winning awards in Chinese speech contests for three consecutive years.


I then majored in Chinese language at university, and studied abroad in Shanghai for one year.

After graduation, I joined the aviation industry as a fresh graduate, where I mastered Japanese honorifics and customer service English through hospitality work.

Later, at a trading company under a Chinese supervisor, I handled trade operations, international procurement as a buyer, and domestic sales. There, I gained practical business Chinese skills through real-world application.

Currently, as an international sales representative for a manufacturer, I actively negotiate deals with Chinese and Taiwanese businesses. Business trips to these regions allow me to use authentic business Chinese in practice.
