JEESOO Tutor Profile

안녕하세요.
Nice to meet you. My name is Jeejaesoon. I am rejoiced to meet all of you. It has already been 25 years since I came to Japan, but I still remember when I had just arrived and couldn’t speak Japanese very well. I have experienced the struggles of not being able to express what I wanted to, not being able to understand what others were saying, and not being able to communicate effectively. I believe that I can effectively teach the differences in these languages by utilizing what I experienced at that time. Before coming to Japan, I worked at an environmental research institute in South Korea. Although it was for a short period of time, I have also experienced teaching junior high and high school students at a cram school, by making use of my secondary school teacher qualification. By making use of this experience, I have been running private lessons for 15 years, teaching Korean to people ranging from elementary school students to senior citizens. In my lessons, I strive to make learning Korean enjoyable by focusing on areas that seem interesting to the students.
For instance, by using materials tailored to each of my students’ interests, such as topics related to current events in books or newspapers, translations of K-POP lyrics and texts, discussions about K-dramas, or historical matters, I strive to create fulfilling lessons that make learning Korean more enjoyable.
There is a Korean proverb, “시작은 반이다,” which means, “Starting something is difficult, but once you are able to start, you’ve already accomplished half of it.” I believe this expresses the importance of taking the first step. Why not take that first step with me?
