Hello! I am Lan (란) from South Korea, and I currently reside in Frankfurt, Germany:)
I majored in film directing in South Korea and worked as a marketing manager in a game company as well as a publishing company. I am currently living in Frankfurt preparing for my master’s degree because I wanted to continue my studies in Germany.
After nearly a year of intensively studying the German language, I discovered the joy of interacting with friends from different countries and the satisfaction of learning a new language. Learning a language is connected to learning about that country’s culture. Studying different languages broadened my experience, and even introduced me to a whole new world.
I enjoy traveling, and challenge myself to try to speak the local language, even if it’s just a simple sentence. By doing so, I can feel the pleasure of speaking in a new language and also feel a small sense of accomplishment. It also helps me make friends with all kinds of people very quickly!
When learning a language, the most important thing is courage, and having fun.
When I first arrived in Germany, I was also afraid of even buy things at a store and had difficulty speaking the language.
However, despite the language barrier, by continuing to try and speak German, I am now able to talk for hours with my friends in German!
Of course it’s scary to speak another language especially when you’re not confident in it, but you learn by speaking it and making mistakes!
Either way, we are in the process of learning so it is normal to make mistakes.
Let’s study in an interesting and fun atmosphere by utilizing great conversation themes, favorite dramas, and movies.
Would you like to have coffee or tea with me and talk in Korean as if you were chatting with a friend? I love good food, movies, and dramas:) What do you like?
