Learn English the Way Non-Native Speakers Actually Learn｜C2-Level (Near-Native) Coach & English–Mandarin Interpreter · Over Eight Years of Experience Teaching English Both Online and In Person

Hello! I’m Estrella. I am a C2-qualified English–Mandarin interpreter working in the field of global trade, with a strong academic background and extensive international experience. I hold three Master’s degrees, all completed in English, earned in the UK, Sweden, and the Netherlands, and have also studied in Taiwan and Norway.

Having studied and worked across different cultural and educational systems, I have developed a strong sensitivity to cross-cultural communication and the ability to adapt my expression to different contexts. I am familiar with diverse ways of thinking, learning styles, and communication norms, which enables me to identify learners’ needs and challenges accurately and apply this understanding directly to my teaching. I support students not only in improving their language skills but also in communicating confidently across cultures.

My professional perspective is closely connected to my own language-learning journey. I grew up in Taiwan, and the key to bringing my English to a near-native level was not talent or academic background, but method and consistent, deliberate practice. Real progress comes from learning how to turn what you hear and read into language you can actively use and speak with confidence.

This belief is grounded in linguistics. Research shows that when language learning remains at the level of passive input, such as extensive reading or listening, the brain mainly recognises information, without effectively building long-term memory or productive language ability. Language is truly internalised only through active output, for example by paraphrasing in your own words or using English in real-life situations. For this reason, I guide learners step by step from passive absorption to active production, so that what they learn becomes English they can genuinely use.

These principles directly shape my teaching practice. I have over eight years of experience teaching English, both online and in person, supporting learners with personal development, exam preparation, and study-abroad planning. I work with students of different ages and proficiency levels, with a strong emphasis on confidence-building and practical, usable fluency.

When setting learning goals, we practise deliberately through realistic, real-life scenarios, ensuring that every lesson is meaningful, practical, and immediately applicable. My teaching approach is learner-centred: I combine clearly structured, personalised lessons with purposeful conversational practice and the selective use of AI tools to create an interactive and efficient learning environment.

My goal is simple: to make language learning not only effective but also genuinely enjoyable. Let’s start learning English and speaking English together!

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading widely, from science to literature, driven by a curiosity about human behaviour and the universe. Reading helps me relax while also inspiring new ideas. I also stay active through going to the gym, hiking, and bouldering, which supports both my physical and mental wellbeing.

您好！我是 Estrella。我是一名具備 C2 等級英語能力的中英口譯員，並從事全球貿易相關工作，擁有深厚的學術背景與國際經驗。我在英國、瑞典與荷蘭取得三個以英語授課並完成的碩士學位，亦曾於台灣與挪威求學。長期在不同文化與教育體系中學習與工作，使我對跨文化溝通具備高度敏感度，也培養了靈活調整表達方式的能力。我熟悉不同文化背景下的思考模式、學習習慣與溝通風格，能精準辨識學習者的需求與盲點，並將這些理解實際應用於教學中，協助學生在提升語言能力的同時，更自信地進行跨文化交流。
