Hey there, this is Alex from Taiwan!

Successful learners are happy learners. As someone who struggled with learning foreign languages myself, I understand the importance of creating a fun and engaging learning environment. That's why my goal is to provide a positive, cheerful, and stimulating environment for adults to learn Mandarin, where all learners can enjoy their learning, achieve their goals, and eventually become independent life-long learners.

What I can provide

・Taiwanese Mandarin

・Support at all levels: I teach students at different levels. If you are not sure what level you are in, we can have a trial lesson to know it better! You will receive a detailed report after your trial lesson. This report will outline your strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions on how I can best support you.

・Customized lessons: Feel free to send any requests, questions, or anything via Message on the platform. I will discuss this with you and make a customized plan for your request. It would be great if you knew what you would like to learn (e.g. skills in listening/reading/writing/speaking, test preps, or any certain topics you want to learn about Mandarin and/or Taiwanese/Chinese culture).

・Explanations in Mandarin, English, or Japanese

・Experience in Mandarin teaching for 7 years, mainly focusing on 1-on-1 customized lessons, from 0 to hero!

・Passionate about language learning (Japanese, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Indonesian, Hindi, Vietnamese, Arabic and Cantonese)

・Specialized in linguistics, education, calligraphy, and tea!

・Certified as an intermediate Taiwanese tea sensory evaluator

・Worked as a business analyst, tech consultant, and travel planner

My approach to teaching Mandarin is rooted in the belief that language learning should be fun, engaging, practical, and tailored to each student's goals. I focus on creating an immersive environment where students can develop their skills naturally through conversation and real-world applications.

My lessons are interactive and conversation-based, helping you build confidence and fluency quickly, in a humorous, fun, engaging environment!

・Practical Application: I emphasize useful, everyday Mandarin to ensure you can start using what you learn immediately.
