Hyun Tutor Profile

Anyonhaseyo?

I'm Korean teacher Hyun! Have you ever thought that Korean names are hard to remember? I'm often called Hyon-chan or Pon-chan by my Japanese friends. I'd be happy if you called me Hyun, too.

・Self-introduction

I realize it's been 10 years since I came to Japan. After working in Tokyo and Kobe, I lived in Boston in America for 2 years. After such an experience, I discovered that I wanted to help people learn a language, and I started studying language acquisition and teaching through the literature post-graduate course at Osaka University (Master's in literature).

I found out the true feeling and wonder of how learning a language could expand your work or overseas experience, all while learning Japanese and English and feeling the joy and struggle of studying a foreign language. For those of you interested in the Korean language or Korean culture, why not take a step towrds making your dreams come true and feeling a real sense of achievement? As someone who has experienced all this firsthand, and together with my experitse, I am fully prepared to support you all the way.

・Work history

During my university years, I was in charge of teaching Korean specifically to Japanese people, from beginner to intermediate levels. Also, in graduate school, I focused on teaching Japanes to overseas students from America, Europe and Asia. Until recently, I was in charge of teaching Korean at a language school in classrooms and online.

・Translation and interpretation history (Korean⇄Japanese)

*General business: documents, presentation documents, etc.
*Engineering/technology translation: product development blueprints, software manuals, customer user manuals
*Customer support websites
*Museum exhibition panels and/or pamphlets
*Checking of Korean language public voice announcements
*Instantaneous translation for cultural exchange meetings between mayors
*Product development meetings, business meetings, official meetings, simultaneous translation at global management meetings

・Hobbies

Badminton, yoga, travel, cooking, Korean dramas, I have a pile of things I like but amonst them I particularly like travel.
London, England
Pusan' Gamcheon Culture Village is also another place I really like.

Japan also has many wonderful places.
Nagasaki, which I visited last year, was particularly impressive.
Nagasaki, Meganebashi (Spectacles) Bridge
I'd love to hear everyone's recommendations!

So, what is your reason for studying Korean?

"I want to study causally as a hobby"

"I want to watch Korean dramas without subtitles."

"I want to a job where I can use Korean."

Whether as a hobby, for overseas study, for work, or for keeping up your Korean language proficiency, everyone has their reasons for studying Korean. I aim to teach and support you according to your level, lifestyle and goals and help you enjoy becoming able to express yourself in Korean.

I look forward to seeing you in our lessons. Kamusahmunida!(╹◡╹)
