Hirano Tutor Profile

Xin chào các bạn! Hello everyone!
I studied Vietnamese at university (I’ve studied abroad in Hanoi for about a year while I was a student), and I am currently working as a Vietnamese interpreter / translator and Vietnamese language tutor.
Vietnamese is a very difficult language for Japanese speakers, but as aJapanese speaker myself who learned Vietnamese as a second language, I am able to carefully explain points that are difficult for Japanese speakers.
I also specialized in linguistics (I completed a PhD course), so I can teach you the characteristics of the Vietnamese language in an easy-to-understand and systematic way.

There have been an increasing number of people coming from Vietnam to Japan recently, but what kind of language is Vietnamese?
For students who would like to speak Vietnamese with their Vietnamese acquaintances!
Or even for students who would like to try delicious Vietnamese food in Japan some day!

No matter what your motivation is, if you are even slightly interested in learning Vietnamese, why don’t you try learning Vietnamese with me?
I would be more than glad if I could help you feel closer to Vietnam through learning the language.

Background: Born and raised in Japan. When applying for university, I chose to major in Vietnamese because I wanted to study a language that few people in Japan knew. There is no specific reason why I chose Vietnamese instead of other options such as Thai. From there, I developed an (inseparable) relationship with Vietnam and went on to graduate school. In my master’s course, I studied Vietnamese grammar, and during my doctoral course, I focused on the languages of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities. In addition to my research activities, I also works as an interpreter, translator, and Vietnamese language tutor.

Interpreting and translation experience: judicial, medical, technical internship, humanities, etc.
Teaching experience: University and one-on-one lessons. I also have experience teaching children.

“Pho with duck meat”, which I ate in the countryside of Vietnam where I went for my research survey. The research area was famous for duck meat.
Pho is usually associated with beef or chicken, but when you go to the countryside, you can eat local-style pho like this.
In general, you can’t go wrong with Vietnamese food, but it’s the same with local food; no matter where you go, you can always find something delicious!
