About Me:

Hello! My name is Gordon Shawn Woosley and I'm originally from Columbus, Ohio in the USA.  I recently moved back to New York City in September 2023.  However, I lived in the Kansai area of Japan from October 2021  September 2023.  I have been coming to Japan for over 20 years and finally got a chance to live there for nearly 2 years.  My hobbies are sports, fantasy sports such as NFL and EPL soccer, cooking, and cryptocurrencies.

I have two kids - the oldest in college and the youngest in middle school.

My Experience:

I am a New York registered lawyer and have practiced law for over 20 years with international law firms and as an in-house counsel for financial instutions in New York and Hong Kong.
I have a BA degree and JD degree.  I passed the New York bar exam in 2000 and I also passed the California CPA exam in 1997.

I have been teaching on Cafetalk since February 2022. My other teaching experience is mainly from working with my own children and helping them with high school and grade school.  I have been my youngest child's home school instructor for the past 4 years.

How I teach:

We can make a plan together and set goals as to what you would like to achieve.  If you you prefer daily conversation then we can talk about current events or anything that you wish to discuss.  If you have a goal in mind we can work toward that.

After request is confirmed (fixed)

  • More than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ Cancellation is possible at any time.
  • Less than 24 hours before lesson start time.→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
  • No-Show→ The tutor may take a cancellation fee.
