Teacher Judy Tutor Profile
HELLO...
Nice to meet you! (English)
Nagagalak po akong makilala ka! (Tagalog)
Nauugma tabi akong mabisto ka! (Bicol)
はじめまして! (Japanese)
ABOUT ME (Personal and Professional Journey)
*My real name is Judy Ann, a famous actress name in the Philippines when I was born. My mother who was a big fan of that celebrity, named me after her. However, you may call me Teacher Judy, or Judy for short.
*I was born and raised in Southern Luzon of the Philippines which is called, Region V (Bicolano Region). I currently lives in Akita, Japan.
*I speak 3 languages namely; Bicol and Filipino/Tagalog (my mother tounge), English (second language). I'm studying Japanese (I can only speak a little Japanese. I can read Hiragana and a few katakana as well, however with a very slow speed).
*Why do I have to study Japanese and live in Japan? My husband is Japanese.
*I studied Political Science in College because my father wanted me to become a lawyer. However, I love teaching so I pursue this career after my graduation.
*I passed the Licensure Examination (Board Exam) for Professional Teachers in 2018. Then, I tried going to graduate school for 2 years but I haven't finished my Masters Degree yet. It's Master of Art in Education major in Social Studies.
*I taught Senior High School and College Students for 4 years (2018 - 2022). I handled subjects in areas of Social Studies, Filipino, and English.
*I'm an ESL Tutor from 2020. I taught English online to Japanese, Koreans, Taiwanese and Chinese. Most of my students are Japanese.
ABOUT MY LESSONS AND TEACHING STYLES
*I am currently offering English conversation lessons and Tagalog Basics plus Free Talk to my students. (Honestly, these lessons provide lesser preparation for me and for my students. It's more on practicing or applying the language to real life situations while having fun.)
*My lessons are available for teenagers to adults and from beginner to advance level (please feel free to inquire).
*I've been using Student-Centered Approach to Learning. In this approach, both the teacher and the student play an active role in the learning process. However, it's a case to case basis. If the students' level is Intermediate or Advance, most of the time, my role as a teacher is just to become a facilator (guide) during the learning process.
*I am a flexible and very considerate teacher. I adjust my lessons and teaching styles depending on my students' individual needs. So please, just be yourself in the class. Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
Hope to see you in my class! :)
