Hello everyone!
My name is Derrick and I'm from Malaysia, I'm so happy to be here on this site where I can help you in improving your English.
To let you know a bit about myself, I was not always a teacher, I worked as a lawyer for about 4 years after I graduated but I realise I not only want to work with people outside my country but more importantly help them acquire the English skills they need, which leads me to you. There is a joy in helping others to acquire a language skill, and that's what I want to help you with.
For my qualifications, I not only have a certificate in 120-Hour TESOL/TEFL, 80-Hour Teaching English to Online Learners and 70-Hour Teaching English to Adults from TESOL World Academy, but I also have a Bachelors degree in Law and I'm currently taking my Masters course in Law.
I have taught English to students from Kazakhstan on a voluntary basis through the Global Virtual School programme.
Though I have my own teaching style which not only includes teaching you the more confusing parts about grammar which involves plenty of examples and real-world situations, I am also making sure that your speaking skills will be smooth and fluent, and that you'll be able to listen and understand typical a typical English conversation.
But rest assured that through our discussions early on, we can discuss what are your most important needs. Maybe you want to focus on writing rather than grammar? Or that you want to hone your speaking skills? Those are all available though custom classes with me.
I am always open for discussions and questions. I am here to be your partner in your English journey and I want to see you succeed!
