What kind of person is tutor JAY?
Annyeonghaseyo~♪ Hello~♪
I am your Hangul tutor “JAY.”
I was born in Seoul, South Korea.
I studied jewelry design at an art college and worked for many years as a graphic designer in Seoul and Tokyo.
After getting married and coming to Japan, I became interested in education as I became a mother, and since 2020, I have been teaching Hangul to children, parents, and adults.
What are tutor JAY’s lessons like?
1. Lessons that are easy-to-understand
From my own experience teaching children, I have been mindful to create lessons that are enjoyable, easy to understand, and are helpful for learning, even for children with short attention spans.
I explain the core concepts clearly, so I have received great feedback for being easy to understand even from my adult students.
2. Careful Teaching Methods
Having lived in Japan for many years, I have background knowledge of Japanese culture and ways of thinking.
Of course, I possess business manners from my experience working with major companies, and I have also mastered the use of honorifics, so you can take my lessons with ease.
3. Standard & Clear Pronunciation
I was born and raised in Seoul, so I use standard Korean.
I have also practiced singing as a hobby for many years, so I believe that my pronunciation and enunciation are clear and very easy to understand.
Please refer to my profile video to see what my pronunciation is like.
4. High-quality Lessons
I usually teach in face-to-face lessons,
but I also offer high-quality online lessons on Cafetalk, just like my in-person lessons.
As a former graphic designer,
I can express the necessary content in an easy-to-understand manner using PowerPoint.
Please come and try my lessons out.
For those learning Hangul for the first time
I strive to provide lessons that cater to each student’s age, wishes, and learning pace.
If you are feeling anxious about learning Hangul for the first time or returning to study after a long blank, please rest assured.
I will teach you gradually and carefully.
Tutor JAY’s Teaching Goals
I aim to to teach Korean that my students can actually use and speak with.
For Japanese speakers, Korean is one of the easiest languages to learn.
You can use the words you learned for fun in various situations, such as during a trip to South Korea, when watching your favourite K-dramas, or reading the packaging of Korean food in grocery stores.
Would you like to start a “life with Hangul” together with me♪
