■ Sayan’s Thoughts on Japanese Language Education ■
・I want to share the joy and charm of being a Japanese language tutor with more people (Although I would never push you to do so, ever).
・I want to support every Japanese teacher individually, so they can fell more fulfilled when teaching in the classroom.
・I want to help each and every Japanese language tutor to sort out their career and skills, and assist them in expanding their possibilities.
・I want to create a space where Japanese teachers who are struggling can receive mental health care and freely express their feelings.
I believe that my past experiences might be able to help someone!!
■ Basic Information About Sayan ■
Born in 1993 in Fukushima Prefecture
Studied Russian language at a university in Niigata
Somehow became more fluent in Chinese than Russian
Obtained the Japanese language teaching certification while attending university
Became a full-time Japanese language tutor right after graduation
(Teaching at a vocational school’s Japanese language department)
I became a Japanese tutor but wanted to further study,
so I decided to go to graduate school (Master’s in Japanese Language Education).
While in graduate school, I gained experience teaching Japanese outside of language schools.
After graduating, I started off fresh (?) as a Japanese teacher again.
However, the pay for Japanese teachers hardly ever improved, so I started to get fed up with the low salary.
I then changed careers, and became a staff member at a Japanese teacher training program.
For two years, I worked as a learning advisor and career counselor for trainees.
Qualifications related to Japanese language teaching:
・Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test (2015)
・Completion of Japanese Teacher Training Course (2016)

・Passed the Registered Japanese Teacher Examination (2024)
Japanese teaching experience: 7 years
・Full-time and part-time teaching experience at domestic Japanese language schools, vocational schools, and universities
・Community Japanese classes (for local residents)
・Online Japanese teacher
・Japanese teacher at corporations

・Instructor for Japanese teacher training programs
Experience as a Teaching and Career Advisor: 2 years
I’ve provided guidance to around 200 trainees (ages 20s–60s, all genders)
Enrolled in Japanese language teacher training programs.
I also gain new insights and inspiration from every conversation I have with my students.
I look forward to taking with you too!
I can’t wait to see you!
