Miso Tutor Profile

안녕하세요.

Nice to meet you.
My name is MISO. ^^
Did seeing the word “miso” make you smile? lol
The word “miso” is written as “미소” in Korean.
It refers to a quiet, gentle smile, like the Japanese word “ほほえみ (hohoemi).”
Language is fascinating, isn’t it?
I want to create easygoing and enjoyable lessons that bring a smile to my students’ faces, from beginners to advanced-level learners.

입춘대길 건양다경

This phrase expresses the hope that, with the arrival of spring, many blessings will occur, and that the warm atmosphere will bring plenty of good fortune and joy.
It is a traditional seasonal custom to post this on gates and pillars at the start of spring, the first of the 24 solar terms, to pray for peace and good fortune in the household.

I hope that everyone studying with me will see their Korean skills improve day by day, month by month, and that many good things will come your way.

Would you like to enjoy K-POP more freely?

I also love K-POP.
Let’s sing along together while learning about the artists and lyrics.
I’m sure your pronunciation will become more natural, and your vocabulary will expand.
I also love K-dramas and K-movies. lol

Before a lesson together, I’d like to set aside some time for us to plan the lesson together.

Information on 미소쌤 (Teacher Miso’s) Lessons

훈:
For beginners just starting to learn Korean
We’ll start with reading and writing the characters using “Hunminjeongeum (訓民正音),” the first guide to the Hangul alphabet.
By the end of this session, you’ll be able to read and write Hangul.
For those who are proficient in Korean but want to learn more about Hangul,
These are the essential basics you should know when studying Korean!

민: Expand the Hangul reading and writing skills you learned in “훈.”
We’ll practice using familiar Korean-Japanese common words.
You’ll be able to broaden your vocabulary through these words.
During the lesson, we’ll also try creating short sentences.
This lesson is designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced-level learners.
The lessons focus on conversation > vocabulary + sentences.

정: Add grammar to the “민” course.
We’ll practice basic grammar, practical grammar, and expressions for everyday conversation.
You’ll naturally absorb the grammar you’re learning by reading sentences.
This lesson is designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced-level learners.
The lessons focus on conversation > vocabulary + sentences.

음: From 정’s grammar to conversation
We’ll practice speaking naturally, just as native Korean speakers do in everyday life.
This lesson is for intermediate and advanced-level learners.
    It’s a conversation lesson.

한글 (Hangul)
This lesson is designed for elementary, junior high, and high school students who are interested in Korean and are just starting to learn. You’ll learn Hangul in a way that’s as easy to understand and fun as listening to a folktale.

자유회화 (Free Conversation)
Start your day energetically with the news, and end it comfortably and relaxed with the feeling of saying, “Thank you for all your hard work today.” This is a lesson where you can speak Korean freely.
Feel free to engage in casual conversation about the latest Korean news or any topic you are interested in!
Even if you don’t have a specific topic, you’re welcome to drop by!
This class is designed for beginners, intermediate, and advanced-level learners.

Language is a tool for communication, and the more you use it, the better you’ll become with it.
In my lessons, rather than relying on simply memorizing, I focus on helping you thoroughly understand (comprehend) the materials first. Through repetition and practice during our lessons, I aim to guide you so that you acquire the language naturally and effortlessly.

I plan a wide variety of lessons to help you improve your Korean language skills.
You can freely customize your lessons to suit your preferences.

I was born and raised in Seoul, and I speak Standard Korean.

Korean Language (Bachelor of Arts)
Studied Korean at a language school in Tokyo
Passed N1 in the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test)
Experience as a research student at a graduate school in Chiba
(I still can’t forget the taste of the shrimp udon from that udon shop near the station run by a group of grandmothers.)
Obtained Level 2 Korean Language Teacher Certification
Holder of a Guinness World Record
When learning a new language, I believe you’ve truly succeeded when you are finally able to laugh at the same time as a native speaker does.
I strive to tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs and levels.
Come join me for a lesson where we’re always smiling. ^^
