I have been taking lessons with Koyuki Sensei since October 2023, and throughout that time I have been consistently impressed with the quality of her teaching. When I started, I had almost no knowledge of Japanese. Since then, we have worked through the Genki 1 and Genki 2 textbooks together, and we are now about to begin Quartet. What I appreciate most about Koyuki Sensei's teaching style is the balance she strikes between patience, encouragement, and challenge. Her lessons are always enjoyable and engaging, but she also knows how to push me in the right way so that I continue to improve and stay motivated. She is highly adaptable and is always able to tailor her approach to my individual needs as a learner. I genuinely look forward to every lesson and feel motivated to study between sessions, often thinking ahead to what we will cover next. I have been taking Anthony’s lessons several times a week since January, and I truly appreciate his patience and support. He is always warm, kind, and attentive, and communication before and after each lesson is very smooth and thoughtful. He prepares topics and materials based on my interests, including current affairs, cultural differences between East and West, Western philosophy, and religious traditions. His lessons are calm, meaningful, and comfortable. He gives practical suggestions, corrects my mistakes in real time, helps me improve my intonation, and gradually expands my vocabulary.
