Hello everybody!

My name is Ignacio nice to meet you! I'm a spanish native speaker and self-taught english speaker currently learning japanese! 

about me:

I majored in Film and Television studies in Chile. Right after graduating I started working as a producer for Chile's national broadcast television. I'm also a Photographer and a Director. I've made music videos and recorded live performances of bands from Japan, Canada, Argentina, Chile and the US. I lived in Toronto and worked at a ramen place to better increase my japanese skills. 

 

I have taught English to high school students in my country with great results. Also have been teaching one-on-one english lessons and serving as a language partner to people from Japan, China, Colombia, and others.. My lessons are usually focused on pronunciation, slang and overall familiarity with the language before any grammar is introduced. I think that’s the best way of getting into the language without feeling like learning random formulas that won’t make sense to you at first anyway.

Above all, learning for me has to be fun. Most of my lessons focus on media such as movies, music, tv series and stuff like that. You would be for example asked to write an essay about a certain movie. Not only you get the listening experience just by watching the movie but writing essays can help you with storytelling, syntax, semantics, grammar, deeper thinking, etc…

I have helped a lot of friends from different parts of the world with English and Spanish before. If you just need a language exchange partner, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
