My work experience spans four different countries, with the most recent position teaching academic English at the University of York in England. Prior to that, I have taught English at numerous language schools, as a private tutor and at the prestigious Virginia Tech University (USA). Therefore, in addition to teaching general English lessons, I also offer help with university admissions into English speaking programmes and can teach you academic language; writing and editing of essays, research papers and personal statements; and preparation for standardised tests such as TOEFL or IELTS. Over the years, I’ve had hundreds of happy customers who were able to pass their English exams, improve confidence in speaking and prepare for university entrance and important job interviews with my help.
I have a Master’s Degree in English Philology as well as a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate. I have taught children and adults, and feel comfortable working with people of varying levels of language proficiency - from complete beginners to highly advanced students.
In addition to teaching, my other passion is personal and professional development. That is why since 2016 I have been a member of Toastmasters International, an educational organisation that promotes public speaking and leadership skills. Having earned two awards by now (Competent Communicator and Competent Leader), I am also able to further develop my students’ language skills by facilitating their public speaking and presentation mastery.
In my spare time I do yoga and CrossFit. My other hobbies include traveling, hiking, diving, reading and cooking and will be happy to chat on any of these topics with you during our conversation classes!
