約20年間の日本での生活を終え、最近カナダに戻ってきました。日本では、大学からビジネス、高校、そしてプライベートレッスンと、3歳から93歳のたくさんの生徒たちに英語を教え、様々なかけがえのない出会い・時間を経験してきました 。私は日本語を上手に話すことはできませんが、それが私と生徒たちがコミュニケーションを取る上で問題になったことはありません。
英語を教えること以外には、サイクリング、ランニング、そして水泳を趣味としてきました。日々の自転車通勤から、広島県と愛媛県を繋ぐしまなみ海道をサイクリング旅行することまで、サイクリングはいつも私の日常の一部でした。サイクリングをしない日は、一日を10kmのランニングから始めるなど、体を動かすことがとても好きです。
I have just returned to Canada after almost twenty years of living in Japan, teaching English in a myriad of venues and to every kind of student, while Capturing the Moments throughout Japan. I have taught in universities, in the corporate world, in high schools, and in private classes to students from the age of three to ninety-three. While I do not speak fluent Japanese, this has never stopped my students and I from communicating just fine.
Beyond English teaching, I am an avid cyclist, runner, and hobby swimmer. From cycling the Shimanami Kaido in Hiroshima and Ehime to my bicycle being my mode of transportation, cycling has been a part of my every day life. If not on the bicycle, I start my day with a 10km run. I enjoy being active.
