A big hello to everyone!
My name is Lance Latham. I have been an English teacher for the past 20 years. Currently, I am spend most of my time teaching in local universities.
How do you answer these questions:
1. Do you feel shy when you speak English to other people?
2. Did you study English in school but never had a chance to use it in a real situation?
3. Are you searching for a friendly and patient English teacher that can fit your schedule and needs?
If all of these are "YES!" then you have come to the right place. I have experience teaching students from elementary school to adult, beginner to advanced. Come in to find a relaxing and supportive place to practice all the vocabulary and grammar you've learned over the years.
My Qualifications
I earned a BA in Secondary English Education as well as received a teaching certificate for the state of Pennsylvania. After moving to Japan in 2000 and saving enough money, I entered a Masters of Education program a few years later. Through that I earned an MA in Education as a Reading Specialist.
Yes, I love to read. But I also love to run, cook, play video games, sing karaoke, watch movies, and teach English. So we can have many topics to talk about.
I consider myself a lifelong learner. Before coming to Japan, I had zero Japanese language experience. But upon arrival in Tokyo, I feverishly began an intensive self-study program to learn as much about Japan and Japanese as I could. Though I have passed several language tests, I still have much to learn.
Come on in and have a lesson. We can tailor each lesson to fit your needs.
