Hello! My name is Bianca. I’m from Cebu, the Philippines but I live in Brighton, England now. I have been teaching English in Cebu, Japan and England for 8 years. I taught in a Japanese ESL company in Cebu for 5 years and at Gaba Corporation in Tokyo for almost 2 years. 

In Cebu, I taught kids and adults online. I made courses for kids, topic conversations, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation lessons for my company. I also tutored students and workers for TOEIC and IELTS. I was a co-writer of the company IELTS materials.

In Japan, I taught middle school, high school and university students, businessmen, office workers and housewives offline. I taught them English conversation, grammar, pronunciation, business English, travel English and helped them prepare for TOEIC, IELTS and EIKEN. 

I teach all levels, from Beginner to Advanced. I focus on teaching young adults, adults and students preparing for their English exams. The student can make requests and choose what they want to study or they can ask me to set the course for them. I always recommend my students to have a ‘Getting to Know You’ as the first lesson. In this lesson, my students can tell me their goals so I can understand their needs and how they learn. I can also tell them my teaching style and my recommendations.  
I always make sure that all my students understand what I say and finish the lesson satisfied with their English skills. 
 
Example courses you can take: 
Getting To Know You (only for new students) – This is only for the first lesson. 
There are 2 types: 
  • SHORT – you can tell me what you want to study or your goal. 
  • LONG – I can help you choose the course you can take or I can make a special course for you. 
Don’t worry, it’s not a test! It’s just a conversation so you can tell me your goals and how I can help you.
 
Grammar for Conversation (bassic sentence patterns) – this course will help you make better sentences. After this, you will be more confident in speaking English.

How have you been? (general conversation) – tell me about your interests! I personally really enjoy traveling, discovering coffee shops and drinking coffee. I also love novels, plants and flowers and, recently, cooking. Let’s talk about things you like. 

What’s Happening Around the World? (social issues / world news) – do you want to talk to people about some issues but you don’t know how to or you’re not sure how to express your opinion? Let’s sit down and talk about it. 

Pleasure Doing Business with You – business etiquette and language are different all over the world. Sometimes, the differences are small and not obvious. Sometimes, the differences are not important. But sometimes they can affect business relationships. Let’s take a look.

How Do You Say…? – Sink-Think / Royal-Loyal / Vine-Fine / Ship-Sheep. Pronunciation also includes saying a sentence naturally by joining letters together, stressing words and more. This course needs a lot of practice and repetition, but you will surely be a more confident speaker at the end. 

TOEIC and IELTS Preparation – I was thoroughly trained to prepare students for these exams. I have co-authored teaching materials for IELTS and given a number of TOEIC Reading and Listening seminars. I have also taken the TOEIC and IELTS tests myself a couple of times. I can help you as a teacher and give you tips as a test-taker.
