Hi! My name is Kristine Joyce and I love to teach! I've been formally a teacher for seven years now, but I have also been a tutor even when I was still in college. I have experience in teaching from grade 1 to grade 12, and this has taught me to be very diverse in my teaching techniques and be able to communicate complicated ideas to different levels. Being a Waldorf Teacher, I am trained to make learning as relatable and as meaningful as possible. I am able to not just make it very academic - focusing on memorizing things, and tests, but also make learning creative and fun. This is very important not just for young learners but also for adults.

I am an experienced music teacher but I also teach social studies and mathematics. We have a lot to talk about! I love traveling, hiking, music, the arts, and general information. We can talk about life, politics, sports and basically anything you want.

I learned English as a second language so I can definitely empathize with the challenges that learning this language poses. I will be with the student every step of the way.

I love to travel! I've been to Singapore, Indonesia, China, and my favorite, Japan. I have been to Japan several times in the past decade. I joined an international choral competition there, attended a teacher training, and traveled for pleasure several times. I love this country so much and I would go back over and over again! I love the culture, their being one with nature, the organization and safety, and most especially, I just love who they are as a nation.

I am very passionate about music and I can definitely include this in our lessons especially for the younger ones. I'd love to meet you soon!

Thank you again! I loved these exercises. I am so much more relaxed when I run through them, even when I make mistakes. I do try to do them during the week as well. I am happy to have you as a tutor and maybe one day, I won't freak out when singing in public. :)

I know I am really fighting with my anxiety and I did not do a great job the last time. This time, I tried some other relaxing breathing exercises and tried to turn off the critic in my head. Plus, you had an amazing visual resource that helped me this time. Those exercises were perfect. I could hear what I should be singing and try to match it and it was the same note every time. The change of song was the best part. I feel way more comfortable with No Importa la Distancia! You are a great teacher and I am glad I found you.

Kristin does a great job of focusing on the technical and application parts of singing. She also is very calming, so I was not nervous at all. I think I will learn a lot working with her.
