Hi everyone! I'm Daphne (ダフニー). 


I'm very passionate about the English language. I learned speaking English when I was only 3 years old. My mom tells me I learned to tell the Cinderella story (a fairytale!) in straight English at that age. I have always been inclined to language and communications. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the University of the Philippines. That's where I learned basic Japanese, and a few words in Spanish and French. I've been to the US and other Asian countries, but Japan is my most favorite country. My brother lives in Nagano, while 2 of my cousins live in Tokyo. I visit them every year. I've been to Japan more than 10 times, and apart from Nagano and Tokyo, I have also visited Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Yokohama, Chiba, and Nagoya. They're all beautiful places, and I'm so glad that I will always have with me those wonderful memories.


I have 7 years of experience teaching English to Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese -- both in online and classroom setting. I've taught all ages from kindergarten to professionals. I specialize in teaching global English or what we call as neutral English which is very much preferred in the workplace today. It's a plus that I have passed the N5 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test because I can also provide Japanese language support as you learn English with me. I speak and write English fluently, so I am also available for help in proofreading and editing your papers. I've worked with different nationalities (American, British, Australian, Japanese, Polish, Spanish, Mexican, Indian, etc), and I always enjoy understanding and learning more about their culture and work ethics.

My lessons range from beginners to intermediate to advanced levels. I can help you determine your proficiency level through a Level Check, and then I will provide you recommendations on what lessons to take. 

I have many fun lessons that are tailored towards young students. All of my lessons for children include games that help reinforce what was learned. I can give young students exciting games and activities as they learn English, all to better help retain the learning.

My lesson plan: 

Every student has a different learning style and each one learns in different ways. I create custom tailored lessons to meet each student's needs based on their English proficiency level. My ESL materials include games, worksheets, spoken and written exercises, real world scenarios, role playing, and simulating the environment (daily interactions, academic, business, meetings, presentations, etc). 

The key to learning any language is using it. If you don't use it, you will lose it.

What I offer doesn’t stop at just the lessons. I will also offer you guidance and advice on how to practice English at home. If you are in an environment where you wouldn’t normally use English, it is crucial to think of an effective plan and an effective way to keep on training. Your language skills won’t improve immediately, but you can get completely different results in the same amount of time depending on how effectively you study.
