Hi! My name is Michelle, and I'm an American living in England. I am Cambridge CELTA qualified to teach English as a second language. I studied Japanese language at Georgetown University (Washington, DC) and spent a year in Tokyo at Waseda. After graduating, I lived and worked in Naha, Okinawa, for two years teaching English to government employees and high school students.
Some of my interests include cooking, baking, coffee, weightlifting, TRX, reading cookbooks, the Bible, books on health, nutrition, and fitness, and watching TV programs about arts, crafts, food, and nature. I also love cultures and languages.
I've been teaching as a profession for 10 years.
Maybe you're wondering why you should choose me to be your cooking or language tutor. You are the reason for my teaching existence. My purpose in life is to support individuals like you in achieving their goals. I can guarantee that I will be supportive of your cooking or language learning. I've studied nine languages informally and formally, so I understand what it's like to want to learn a language but either be bored stiff with the process or afraid to speak and make a fool of myself. I know what it's like to try to cook or bake a dish and have it fail miserably, but I also know the great satisfaction of eating what my hands have made. I will be your biggest cheerleader in your cooking or language learning endeavors.
