Hello, Olá, Konichiwa, Hallo! My name is Frederico Lopes. I was born in Portugal, in a small city up in the North called Braga. I'm a certified English tutor by Cambridge with an academic background in Translation. Besides these qualifications, I have experience in teaching European Portuguese and translating documents from English to Portuguese.


I'm able to speak Portuguese, English, Spanish, German and a couple of words in Japanese. I've been a private tutor for more than one year, and I cater to all types of students, both younger learners and adults.


I would like to offer you the opportunity to help you improve all your language skills, from speaking to writing, to listening and reading in either European Portuguese or English.


The European Portuguese is the misunderstood big brother of all the Portuguese languages. Unlike the Brazilian Portuguese that is widely spoken throughout the world, the European Portuguese is an important language within the European political sphere. Although Portugal is one of the smallest nations in the world, it hides beauties that are unimaginable anywhere else. By learning European Portuguese one can get to know its culture, understand the music and the people that compose this wonderful nation. It would be a privilege and an honour to teach this language to anyone interested. 


The English language is a wonderful tool that will help you open many doors throughout your lifetime, and it will be an honour for me to provide you with the key to open this door full of possibilities for a brighter future.


From these two languages, I can provide different types of classes that cater to your needs. The lessons are the following:

-Conversational lessons.

-Traditional Grammar lessons (This includes a small proficiency test to suit your level of the language).

-Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading lessons with topics customed to your needs.
