Hello! My name is Nezihe and I am a qualified language teacher for 20+ years. I have a B.A. in Translation and Interpretation in English and Turkish languages. Additionally, I specialised in ‘Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment’ during my Master’s degree in Education at Walden University in the United States. I have my teaching certificate from Marmara University in Istanbul for K-12 teaching. I am CELTA certified as well. As an international school teacher, I have lived in many different countries such as Romania, Turkey, China, and Uganda. This has given me the opportunity to travel far and wide and to learn about different cultures and ways of living.

I am an EFL teacher since 1998. I taught EFL at a French primary school in Romania and was the head of foreign languages department at a school in Turkey where I coordinated the Oxford Placement Tests and Cambridge YLE, KET, PET, FCE exams. I taught Turkish in the Turkish Embassy in Bucharest. I am experienced in English Acquisition, the British National Curriculum at primary level, IBMYP I&S, IBMYP History, and IGCSE/AS/A Level History for Years 11 & 12. In China, I was Head of English Acquisition and an IB English teacher. I am CELTA certified and have a qualification from Lancaster Uni to teach dyslexic students. I have been working in Uganda at an international school for two years.

First, we will determine your level and goals in your target language either orally during our class, or through a placement test before our first lesson. Our studies will be led according to your set goals, whether that be passing a specific exam or achieving a personal target within a given time. I always prepare lesson plans that meet the needs of each learner because differentiation is one of my priorities. I make sure to use different processes and learning approaches according to students’ learning pace. I find it useful to teach languages by using different presentational tools (many of which I personally have created) such as videos, Prezi, emaze or other materials
