About me

My name is Deanna and I am 22 years old. I am an English Native speaker from the UK. My mother is from Hong Kong and my father is from England, I am half Chinese and half English. I am an online Piano and English teacher. 


My hobbies include exercising, listening/creating my own music and watching TV series/anime. My favourite food is actually Japanese food and I have visited Japan a few times with my family as a holiday. 

I am a patient, warm-hearted and motivating person that really wants to help each of my students achieve their personal goals and get the most out of our lessons together.  


Me as an English Teacher 

What would you gain from my class:

1. A patient teacher who would listen to you and help you improve your English
2. A well-structured lesson based on what topic you would like to learn each lesson
3. Suitable suggested material based on your level and what I think would help you improve 
4. Each student will have their own google document so you will always be able to look at the lesson notes in between our lessons 
5. Informal atmosphere during our learning process to ensure we both enjoy the lesson 
6. Personalised and structured lessons catering to your specific needs 
7. Lessons that will not only help you expand your vocabulary and improve your pronunciation. But, we will also be practising and expanding your conversation skills at the same time.

My lessons & teaching style 

1. For Beginner level to Intermediate = (A1-B2)
Structured material based lessons would be highly recommended. Detailed notes will be taken each lesson which you will always be able to look at and review yourself later on.

2. Conversation Class (Quick Chat) = Intermediate + (B1 above) 
My Quick chat (no material) lesson is ideal for students that already have quite a high level of English and thus, do not require any notes. Instead, you would like to become more fluent in your English speaking/listening.

3. Customized Lessons 
For students looking for help with work or school-related English. Please don't hesitate to contact me with more information so I prepare the best suitable material to help you. 


About me as a Piano Teacher 

What would you gain from my class:

1. I am an online Piano teacher - (Teaching students age +9 above)
2. I am a cheerful and motivating teacher that believes my students should always enjoy our lessons together and learn at their own pace.
3. I completed my grade 8 ABRSM in piano when I was 17 years old 
4. I have been teaching piano to students of all ages for +4 years
5. A teacher that will provide guidance and motivation to you, so you can achieve the most out of our lessons together!

My lesson & Teaching style 

1. I will teach you how to read the music notes and have a good sight-reading level  
2. My piano teaching method focuses on building a good foundation for my students before moving onto ABRSM grades or learning your dream piece.
3. For my beginner or intermediate level students, I will give you the book/material name suggestions that I think would help you improve your piano skill 
4. For students that are not interested in learning how to read the music notes or you can already read the notes and would like to learn your dream song! Please tell me the name of the song or send me the pdf file so I can teach you and we can learn it together!
