Hello, I am Pallavi.
I am CELTA graduate from University of Cambridge, UK. I have also completed Japanese Language Proficiency Test N3. Apart from English and Japanese, I can fluently speak, read and write, two of the main Indian languages, Hindi and Marathi. Languages have always been my strength. Teaching is not only my passion but I believe I have found my Ikigai いきがい (生き甲斐) in teaching.
I have 7 years of teaching experience in Japan and in Singapore. I strive to first identify student's needs /goals and then plan lessons to match those needs. In short, I believe in delivering student centred and yet engaging lessons. As a teacher, I am approachable, supportive, patient and always believe in my students.
I am fun loving foodie who loves to cook, practice Yoga and enjoys long walks, animals, different cultures and travel. I am a firm believer of 'giving back to the society'. I am trained helpliner with AWARE, a Singapore based group working in Women's rights and gender equality. We helpliners, guide callers in the right direction to seek help. I am a great listener and always empathize with callers to understand their concerns. I am a volunteer teacher at ACMI, Singapore and currently teaching 6 students from different nationalities.
I am native English speaker from India and currently living in 'Red Dot' country called Singapore. I am enjoying and exploring this tropical country. Before moving to Singapore, I have lived in Tokyo for 12 years. Japan is my home away from home. My pet dog is pure bred Shiba Inu from Japan! Oh! I love Japan so much!
Online teaching has opened many doors for students and teachers. Why not grab the opportunity? If you are interested, please feel free to book a lesson with me. I am already super excited to be your teacher.
