Introduction
My name is Janet but you can call me Jan. I'm 28 years old. I'm Jamaican. I'm living and working in Japan in the Kansai area.
Education
I have a law degree, a certificate to practice law and a CELTA TESOL certificate from the University of Cambridge.
Hobbies
In my free time I like to cook all sorts of things. I'm always on google or youtube or cookpad checking-out some recipe. I also enjoy dancing. I'm not good at dancing but I like the exercise. I've tried Salsa dancing, Samba dancing and Hip Hop dancing.
Language
I can understand easy Japanese, so if you are a beginner and you have no confidence, please don't worry! We can figure it out together.
Teaching Style
I'm a pretty laid back teacher. I'm understanding and patient and I may crack a joke or two. I want my students to feel comfortable and confident to speak at all times. My lessons focus on grammar and speaking. Its ok to make mistakes when speaking with me, I'll take a memo and tell you. I think my students can learn better a little at a time over a long period of time. So, I designed most of my classes to be for a month. We can go slow, relax and focus on anything you want to improve!
