About Me
Hi! My name is Rick. I am 43 years old and I was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I currently live in the Canary Islands. I have done a lot of traveling around the world as a "digital nomad" for years and I have lived and worked online from many countries. From Germany, Poland, Czechia, Romania to Portugal, Spain and Mexico. My background is in teaching, coaching and the arts. I have had my own company in personal development and created products and services in the field of personal development. I have also worked in the Dutch film industry, both in front and behind the camera.
Me as a Teacher
My lessons focus mainly on CONVERSATION practise (for A2-C1 students). Practical things you can use right away in a day to day setting. Building your confidence in speaking the language and growing your vocabulary from Day 1! All of this happens in a comfortable and non-forced setting where you are given the space to practise and don't have to be afraid of making mistakes. I actually encourage you to make mistakes, as that's the best way to learn and improve as fast as possible! Perfect practise makes perfect. My lessons are very personalised. I always start with getting to know you better. Especially during the trial lesson. What you like, your hobbies, interests, passions and more!
My lessons & teaching style
My classes are very personalized and tailored to your wishes and needs. With beginners, I start with the basics: making correct sentences, pronunciation and listening exercises. With intermediates, I add practicing simple and basic conversation skills. My lessons are generally 30-60 minutes long.
