Hello, greetings, salutations, and other forms of cordial introduction. I am Matt and I am a native English speaker from USA, specifically in the cowboy land of Texas. People tend to describe my personality as the type that likes to talk, but I like to say meaningful things that people can learn from and even apply in the future. By that priniciple, I have the teaching spirit.
My Qualifications and Certifications:
I mostly taught English learners from China as a volunteer unofficially for more than five years.
I have a TEFL degree after taking their 120-hour class.
I have also a Bachelor's degree in media production, so some of my classes may not just be among English teaching but also media production such cinematography, screenwriting, video editing, and other forms of production.
The goal for my classes:
- To make you good at conversational or technical English
- To help you understand about American culture through the context of the how they use the English language
- For media production, a better understanding of how to make creative content for film, TV, and internet.
- A better understanding of American culture in general.
Teaching Style:
- Most lessons are planned and structured. But I allow room for spontaneity and creativity in class.
- I am adaptable and adjustable to my student's needs.
- I am very open about anything. Don't hesitate to ask questions about English.
- I try to emphasize not just effectiveness but also making sure people enjoy learning.
