Hi, everyone! My name is Lyne (リン). I am from the Philippines - the land of white sand beaches and tropical palm trees.
My work experience:
Iloilo City, Philippines
I graduated with an honors degree in Special Education in 2010. I am a licensed teacher and a former head teacher of the elementary department in a prestigious private school in my hometown. It was there that I taught Koreans, Chinese, and Indians. I was also a private reading tutor for kids and an academic tutor for 5th and 6th graders.
Hokkaido, Japan
I was an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) under the JET Programme in Bifuka (美深), Hokkaido for 5 years. It's a peaceful little town in the northern part of Hokkaido famous for sturgeon (チョウザメ), pumpkins, and potatoes. I worked for Bifuka Town Board of Education (美深町教育委員会) and taught students from kindergarten to high school. Having lived there for five years with zero Japanese from the start taught me to learn the language through conversation and day to day activities.
Sendai City, Japan
Then, I moved to Sendai City and worked as an ALT under the Hello World Plan of the Sendai City Board of Education (仙台市教育委員会). I stayed there for a year and taught in a junior high school with visits at the elemetary school once a week. It was an incredible experience working in a big school in a big city. Sendai is a different experience in itself!
Volunteer
I partcipated in the Ashinaga Online International Exchange Volunteer Program as a weekly conversation partner of a Japanese Ashinaga scholar. It was a platform granting for English practice and intercultural exchange. Ashinaga (あしなが育英会) is a non-profit organization based in Japan that provides education and support for orphaned students worldwide.
My hobbies & interests
I love to read books, listen to music, and eat good food. I also love to watch different tv series, Korean dramas, and some anime. I love to discover new restaurants and unique cafes. I also love learning about history and culture.
I love coffee, craft beer, ジンギスカン, somen, 馬刺し, and natto! I also love cherries and melons and I can eat asparagus all day!

初めまして。リンと申します！
日本で、平成２８年から令和４年７月まで、フィリピンの出身の外国語指導助手でした。北海道の美深町で五年間働き、暮らしていました。そして、仙台市に引っ越し、仙台市教育委員会で働いていました。また、あしなが育英会のオンライン国際交流の会話パートナーにボランティアとして参加しました。
趣味は本を読むこと、音楽を聴くこと、おいしいものを食べることです。大好きなものはコーヒー、クラフトビール、ジンギスカン、そうめん、馬刺し、納豆です！サクランボとメロンも大好きです。アスパラガスを一日中食べられます。
少し日本語を話して、楽しく授業をやりたいと思ています。よろしくお願いします。
