Hello, thanks for visiting my page! My name is Amanda.
My name is Amanda. I am an American ESL teacher originally from the little state of Oklahoma (north of Texas). I have lived in many states in the U.S., and a few different countries. Currently I am in Sweden, where I teach English at an international school. I have been teaching English for two years, and I have been working for the past ten years, in a variety of fields, including education and administration. I hold a dual-master's degree from George Mason University, in Virginia, and the University of Malta, in Malta, in international studies. Since I love learning about different cultures and ways of living, I obtained my bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology. I am a very patient and motivating teacher with cultural sensitivity. I hold a 160 Hour TEFL Certificate and I also have a certificate in teaching and learning from Oklahoma State University.
I love teaching English and I love learning about different cultures, so Cafetalk is the perfect place for me to combine these interests!
My Teaching Style:
My teaching style is professional and relaxed. I like to make sure my students feel comfortable. You don’t have to worry about making mistakes. This is important because in my lessons I want you to talk! I love listening to my students' stories and helping them sound more natural!
I can help with pronunciation during the lesson and like to give my students detailed reviews about any new phrases or words we discuss.
If you have any questions or ideas for how you would like to be taught, you can bring them to me and we can make a more personalized lesson plan!
I greatly enjoy helping my students succeed in meeting their English language goals, and I am looking forward to helping you reach yours!
I love traveling and meeting people from different countries! I also enjoy learning new languages, great discussions, and spending time in nature, and agriculture! My favorite country remains Italy, as the atmosphere and rich history are really incredible.
