今週のテーマ: 2020年を振り返って

When they think about 2020, everyone will immediately remember the terrible corona virus, the people we lost and the lockdown economy: closed restraunts (at least over here), no bars or pubs, and New Year's parties that just didn't happen. There were empty streets even in Japan: Kyoto lost most of its tourists and Dogo, in my home city, was a ghost town. But there's one positive that we might overlook: although we had to 'keep our distance', I think many people became a little more friendly; more willing to say "Hello" to neighbours and strangers that we were too busy to notice before. Especially in the U.K., where we often ignore old folks, there was realisation that these were people that we all have a responsibility to take care of. So...

 "Happy New Year" after all.
